Bay Plumbing & Heating attended a property in Newton Abbot to carry out a boiler service for a new customer. The boiler was located in the attic, and during the service we noticed water coming from the bottom of the appliance.

A proper boiler service is not just a quick visual check. While servicing this boiler, water was seen coming from the bottom of the appliance, so further checks were carried out.

The issue was traced to the rubber grommet connected to the condensate sump. It appeared to have been warped during previous work, which meant the boiler was leaking whenever the condensate emptied. Finding this condensate leak during the service meant the issue could be identified before it caused further problems for the customer.
